Responsibilities

As a Shopify and WordPress Developer at [Company Name], you will be responsible for creating knowledgeable and engaging Shopify stores online to increase revenue and sales. You will design bespoke themes and modify pre-existing templates to meet company requirements. Collaborating with UI and UX design teams, you will develop innovative, strong, and unique user experiences. You will ensure smooth integration with Shopify Apps, Marketing Tools, and Platform APIs, regularly debug and test websites to enhance performance, and optimize websites to increase conversion rates. Additionally, you will design and build responsive, mobile-friendly websites optimized for various devices and browsers using WordPress. Your responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript, implementing and maintaining website content management systems, and troubleshooting and debugging issues to ensure websites function correctly. Staying up-to-date with the latest web technologies and industry trends, creating and managing custom themes, ensuring website accessibility and security, maintaining and updating existing websites, and testing both new and current websites to correct potential errors are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and PHP, along with experience in Liquid coding for both Shopify and WordPress. You should possess a solid background in e-commerce, including previous experience with Storefront API, custom theme development, and third-party Shopify applications. Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress and Shopify is essential. You must be adept at creating responsive and unique layouts for mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. Strong problem-solving skills are crucial, particularly the ability to debug and test websites using browser console and various tools. A thorough understanding of web standards, accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, website security, and data privacy best practices is required. Additionally, the ability to provide proactive feedback, interact effectively with team members, and lead a dedicated sales team is important. Excellent communication skills are needed for building and maintaining client relationships.
